CIP’s mission is to identify, disseminate, and advocate for innovative state policies that hold promise in a wide range of states. In fulfillment of this mission, CIP engages with outside policy experts in numerous forums, to discuss and analyze the social and economic impact of contemporary state policies and related issues.

CIP is committed to advancing state-based public policy ideas and programs to ensure that government at all levels works within its means to provide for the health, safety, and security of all Americans.

To fulfill its mission, the Center for Innovative Policy co-sponsors an annual series of policy conferences with the nation’s 24 Democratic governors and other policy experts in Washington, DC and around the country.
